Butz started playing in 1999 with the NY Sharks. She played one season in NY then moved on to the Philadelphia Liberty Belles where she played 4 seasons and won the Inaugural NWFL National Championship. She finished her last two years of playing in Seattle with the Majestics. She did get the chance to suit up and play for one week at the annual Women's World Games for a few years.

Butz began coaching with the Seattle Majestics in 2013. She started as the Special Teams Coordinator and RB coach. Today she is still with the Majestics as the Assistant Head Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, LB and RB coach. She also holds the position of CEO of the organization.
